A NOTE FROM THE COLLECTION

A small, private recipe box

What Herbologium stores in your browser and what happens when you save a card.

Your saved cards stay here

Choosing Save card stores that card's identifier in your browser's local storage. The collection can then show your selections when you return using the same browser and profile.

Your notes, scans, and backups

Dividers, private notes, family stories, family-recipe transcriptions, and optional scans also stay in local storage. Scans are resized in your browser; keep original files separately. No recipe text or image is uploaded. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to read the box.

Export backup downloads a JSON file containing your collection, notes, scans, family stories, and dated cooking entries with substitutions. Import lets you review and merge a backup. Existing notes are retained, different imported notes are appended, and conflicting family cards, stories, and cooking entries are kept as separate copies. Keep backup files private. Remove a family card to erase it and its notes here; downloaded backups remain wherever you saved them. Dated cooking entries retain their recipe title even when a family card is removed; remove those entries separately in Cooking history. Removing a public card from the saved list keeps its private notes available if you return to that card.

The saved list is not sent to Herbologium or synchronized to another device. Clearing this site's storage removes it. Private browsing or browser restrictions may prevent it from being retained.

Your family booklet

The booklet is assembled locally from the family cards you select. You can include reference scans, private card notes, cooking history, and separately selected family stories. Stories are unselected by default. Remove a story from Stories from home to erase that recollection here; previously downloaded backups and booklets retain their copies. Preview selections last until the booklet closes. Printing or saving a PDF uses your browser; Herbologium receives no copy. Check the preview before sharing a booklet that includes personal material.

Journey bookmarks

“Keep my place” stores a journey and its current card in your recipe box on this browser. It does not track what you have read. Bookmarks are included in exported backups; importing keeps an existing bookmark when the same journey is already saved. Remove a bookmark from its journey overview.

Theme and search

The light or dark reading preference is stored locally through the shared Temporal Architecture theme preference. Search words and filters appear in the address so you can return to a search or share it; avoid putting sensitive information into a search URL.

What this edition collects

Google Analytics uses cookies for public-page statistics. Where prior consent is required, it stays off until you allow it. Elsewhere, you can decline through Analytics settings. Previous declines and browser privacy signals keep it off. It measures public page visits, scrolling, public downloads and links. Search words, instrument inputs, private notes, saved selections, family recipes and scans are excluded. Advertising personalization stays off. Use the Analytics settings control to decline or change your choice. The choice is stored separately in this browser; it does not change your recipe box or its backups. Correction notes

The correction form helps you compose and copy a message. Its text stays in the page and on your clipboard after you choose to copy. The form does not send the message.
